What type of craft(s) do you sell on etsy?
cloth wipes, natural wooden toys, ring slings, children's ring slings, microfiber inserts for cloth diapers
How'd you BEEcome interested in bees?
I have worked in the green industry since I was 15 and have watched the decline of the honeybee population locally. It's devistating and I have always been a local bee activist even when I was a child.

Amanda,
You make the cutest stuff...so cheerful, it brings out the kid in me. I'll be posting a new team challenge here in the Forums section pretty soon and I hope you will join.

Have a great day,
Doris

By the way-- beegreenbuzz here on Ning is also from Co. You guys could start a Colorado Bees regional group here on Ning- maybe next year you can find some local bee related events to participate in together :)
I'm not sure how far away you live from each other, but would still be fun to find regional events!

A fabric with bees and ladybugs and lots of insects would also be very cute if you could find it! Then you've got a wide variety but you've also got some bees to boast! :)
I've seen a lot of bee fabric at the store, if you have a JoAnn fabrics by you. If I had more I'd send it your way, but I gave all mine away...

No problem at all, and I'm stilll kind of a newbie too. I believe generally the idea behind a challenge is to create a new item- add variety to your inventory, that kind of thing. So from what I saw at a glance of your shop, you could do some wipes with some bee fabrics :)
Plus a challenge motivates you to be a little creative. (I think, hehe.)

If you wanted to donate a portion of the item's sales towards bee research, that's totally up to you. When listing the item, in the item's description on Etsy, you could bring up CCD and honeybee awareness- and by doing even that much, you're contributing to helping out the bees!

Does that answer the questions, somewhat? :)

Hi there and Welcome!!

You can read about our challenge on the blog!..
http://etsyhoneybeehelpers.blogspot.com/

I made the challenge into a blog announcement for now, so it'll be easier to find that way.
I'm not sure how everyone's projects are coming along- if August 31 is too soon, we could have the due date be mid-September...
